BACKGROUND Featherstone Productions was established by Don and Judy Featherstone in 1985. Since then we have produced over forty highly regarded documentaries across many genres including history, music & arts, science, sports and current affairs. Films include; ‘The Beach’ - beach culture in Australia, ‘An Imaginary Life’ – writer David Malouf and the seminal TV Drama ‘Babakuieria’.

FINANCING Over a period of time we have received development grants from the NSWFTO, the SAFC, Screen West and the AFC. We have negotiated pre-sales with the ABC, SBS, the BBC, NHK and LWT and financed films via 10BA film investors and the FFC.

BROADCASTERS Our films have screened on networks including; the BBC, ITV, CBC, NHK, RTE, ZDF arte, Ovation USA, WNET, Canal 22 Mexico, Bravo USA, BSkyB, UK Performing Arts, RAI Italy, LA Sept, YLE Finland, SVT Sweden, DRS Germany, TEVEL Israel, NOS Netherlands, Iran Broadcasting Corp., TV2 Iceland, HRT Croatia, Rep. Of Kazakstan TV, Cablehogar Argentina, Vargas Panama, POLTEL Poland, Czech TV, Tele Madrid Spain and ETV South Africa.

CO-PRODUCTIONS We produced the major documentary ‘Tales of Helpmann’ in partnership with UK producer Primetime and are actively seeking partners to produce innovative television programs by accessing funds from international and Australian funding bodies. PRODUCTION SERVICES We have managed the Australian shoots for several major films including: ‘The Man of the Millennium’ The South Bank Show - LWT, ‘The Adventure of English’ - LWT, ‘Oz Magazine’ The South Bank Show – LWT and ‘The Real Mary Poppins’ – Endemol.

DISTRIBUTION We have over thirty one-hour documentaries available for purchase on DVD and broadcast formats.
